Cannot type certain characters (apostrophes, quotation marks, inverted commas) on a DaDesktop machine
This frustrating issue crops up only occasionally, but it depends on your physical keyboard type, language layout, and regional settings.
This is a Windows only Issue
You can resolve it by doing the following:
- Open the Windows search bar and type 'Settings'.
- Select 'Time & Language'.
- Then, on the left-hand side, click the language menu item.
- Under 'Preferred Languages', choose your preferred language and then select 'Options'.
- Next, click 'Add a keyboard', and pick the layout that matches your physical keyboard (for example, US keyboard layout).
- Remove any old keyboard layouts by clicking each one and selecting 'Remove'.
- Finally, test by typing a single quote (' ' '), quotation marks (' " '), and inverted commas (`).
