DaDesktop

What DaDesktop Isn't

DaDesktop is software that hasn’t really been classified yet. It can be simpler to describe DaDesktop by pointing out what it isn’t, and how it stands apart.

Online Conferencing

Is DaDesktop Online Conference software like Zoom or Teams?

Typically, you’d rely on platforms like Zoom, Teams, Skype, or WeChat alongside DaDesktop.

Down the line, DaDesktop might come with integrated conferencing software, but that’s not a priority at this stage.

What is similar between let us say Zoom and DaDesktop?

Both offer basic chat capabilities.

Public Cloud Services

Is DaDesktop like AWS, Google Cloud, Azure or Aliyun?

Public cloud computing environments are intended for hosting applications. DaDesktop is created for human users to work with remote desktops.

What is similar between AWS and DaDesktop?

From the user’s point of view, there aren’t many commonalities. Both let a user access a remote machine and run software on it. However, AWS EC2 targets system administrators, whereas DaDesktop is aimed at training participants, instructors, course coordinators, and management.

Some organisations still run remote courses on AWS or other clouds, but public cloud options are generally more expensive, slower, and less user-friendly than DaDesktop. DaDesktop is specifically engineered for training delivery, not for generic computing tasks.

Learning Management System (LMS)

Is DaDesktop like Moodle, Rise UP, Open edX or other LMS?

Learning management systems generally focus on supporting education, like university courses, or are built for online learning. In contrast, DaDesktop is currently aimed at instructor-led corporate training. Its main users are corporate and government employees—it isn’t specifically tailored for school or university students.

DaDesktop focuses on an instructor-led method of delivering courses, where the instructor is present during course delivery.

What is similar between LMS and DaDesktop?

DaDesktop offers a set of features that overlap with what LMSs do, and in some ways surpass them.

Using DaDesktop, a course admin can enroll participants, monitor attendance, assess engagement, check if students are connecting, and even record their screens throughout the session.

This is largely automated. For instance, the trainer need not manually track attendance—the data is already captured in the system. DaDesktop can log a user’s location, connection duration, which exercises they completed and which they skipped, and so on.

Participants who miss the course can watch the recordings and then practice in the exact same environment as those who attended live.
