SSH Access
Users often ask for SSH access to DaDesktop machines, hoping to make it simpler for both learners and trainers to connect to their desktops directly from personal computers. It’s easy to see why: many find it more natural to type commands in a local terminal rather than inside a remote desktop window.
While this is technically possible, we don’t allow SSH in this context because it would needlessly expose DaDesktop course machines to serious security threats.
A drag-and-drop file transfer feature is now available, letting you easily move files from your own laptop or desktop into a DaDesktop machine. Many earlier SSH access requests were driven by the lack of a file transfer method—now that this feature exists, DaDesktop becomes even more straightforward to use.
Worth noting: complete QEMU Spice Desktop support is now offered on both Windows and Linux operating system templates, making it far easier than before to copy and paste commands from your local machine over to DaDesktop, even if you’re on a Mac or using non-English character sets.
For DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access can be enabled if needed.
