Cannot type certain characters such as apostrophes, quotation marks, and inverted commas on a DaDesktop machine
This frustrating issue crops up only occasionally but is influenced by your physical keyboard type, language layout, and internationalization settings.
This problem is exclusive to Windows
You can resolve it by following these steps:
- In the Windows search bar, enter 'Settings'
- Select 'Time & Language'
- Click the language option from the left-hand menu.
- Under 'Preferred Languages', choose your preferred language and then click 'Options'.
- Next, select 'Add a keyboard' and pick the layout that matches your keyboard, such as the US keyboard layout.
- Remove the outdated keyboard layouts by clicking on them and choosing 'Remove'
- Verify the fix by typing a single quote ', a double quote ", and a backtick `.
