Enhancing Connection Performance
Occasionally, your DaDesktop system will alert you if your connection exhibits excessive latency (delay) that could hinder smooth performance.
If this occurs, review the following measures to enhance your connection.
Recommended actions
- Whenever feasible, connect via Ethernet; if you must use Wi-Fi, run a speed test beforehand (e.g., on speedtest.net) to verify your connection's capabilities.
- Stay near the wireless access point if you can. Prefer the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band over 2.4 GHz, since the latter tends to be slower and more susceptible to interference.
- Turn off or deactivate any VPNs or proxies prior to joining the session.
- If possible, temporarily disable security software that could interfere with your network, as these programs can increase latency and reduce speed.
-
Participants might want to consult their company’s IT department, particularly if network or content filtering is causing issues. Allowing the following domains can be beneficial:
1. https://\*.npg.io (any subdomain under npg.io)
2. https://dd4t.dadesktop.com - Refrain from large downloads or uploads while in the course; for instance, postpone system updates on Windows, Mac, or Linux until after the training.
-
Your internet speed should exceed: "10 Mbps download & 1 Mbps upload"
