Understanding What DaDesktop Is Not
DaDesktop is a piece of software that hasn't yet found a fitting category. Often, it's simpler to clarify what DaDesktop is by outlining what it isn't and how it stands apart.
Virtual Conference Tools
Is DaDesktop an online conferencing application like Zoom or Microsoft Teams?
Typically, you'd need to use Zoom, Teams, Skype, or WeChat to access DaDesktop.
DaDesktop might eventually include built-in conferencing features, but that's not a current priority.
What similarities exist between, say, Zoom and DaDesktop?
Both offer basic chat functionality.
Public Cloud Infrastructure
Does DaDesktop resemble AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or Alibaba Cloud?
Public cloud computing is designed to host applications, whereas DaDesktop is crafted for people to use remote desktops.
What parallels exist between AWS and DaDesktop?
From the user's standpoint, there aren’t many commonalities. Both enable using a remote machine and running software on it. However, AWS EC2 targets system administrators, while DaDesktop is built for training participants, instructors, course coordinators, and management.
Some organizations still rely on AWS or other cloud services for remote course delivery. Yet a typical public cloud tends to be more expensive, slower, and less convenient than DaDesktop. DaDesktop is purpose-built for delivering courses, not for general-purpose computing.
Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Is DaDesktop comparable to Moodle, Rise UP, Open edX, or other LMS platforms?
LMS platforms concentrate on supporting education, such as university courses, or are built for online learning. DaDesktop, at present, is designed for instructor-led corporate training. The primary audience includes corporate employees, government personnel, and similar, rather than school or university students.
DaDesktop emphasizes an instructor-led approach to course delivery, with the instructor actively present throughout the session.
How do LMS and DaDesktop intersect?
DaDesktop offers numerous features that overlap with LMS capabilities and even go beyond them.
Using DaDesktop, course administrators can enroll participants, monitor attendance, observe engagement levels, verify connections, and even capture screens during the course.
This happens largely automatically. For instance, trainers don’t need to manually take attendance—the system captures this. DaDesktop logs user location, connection duration, which exercises were completed, which were not, and more.
Those who missed a session can view recordings and practice in the same environment as the attendees who were present.
