GPU Capabilities
DaDesktop offers GPU support through two distinct methods:
- Direct physical GPU passthrough (offered at select data centres). This delivers complete hardware acceleration by leveraging an actual graphics card.
- GPU emulation through the LLVMpipe driver. It functions seamlessly across all our Linux distributions, such as Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04. At present, though, it is not compatible with Windows 10.
If you're unsure whether your intended application needs a GPU—for instance, Blender does—you might encounter a message similar to:
"A graphics card and driver compatible with OpenGL 3.3 or later is needed. Updating to the latest driver for your card could resolve this."
