Forming Organizations
Typically, an Organization is created automatically when you sign up, matching your username.
However, you may occasionally need to establish a new Organization, for instance as a company name when several users from the same business use DaDesktop.
Note: Only Super Admins can create Organizations.
Establishing Organizations in DaDesktop
There are two methods for creating an Organization: the standard approach generates an owner account at the same time, while the alternative skips this step if an owner account already exists.
Creating an Organization and Its Owner Account Together
- You need the account owner's email, password, and first and last names. Roles can be assigned if desired. The currency depends on the portal used—dadesktop.com defaults to EUR, and dadesktop.cn uses CNY.
- An Organization name and a short code are required. Keep the code brief, as it cannot be changed later.
- The settings for Allowing course recordings and publishing recordings affect every recording in the Organization. The same applies to Receiving Promotional Emails—once set, it's applied organization-wide.
- 'Allow Recordings' controls whether Recordings are enabled across the entire organization.
- You can opt for Private servers if necessary. Bear in mind that a server must be marked as 'Private' before it becomes selectable here.
